Title: Coin box dimension question
Post by: iscariot on July 06, 2009, 11:09:24 am
Hey all.  I'm looking for something to use as a coin box in my cab.  The pics are here on the site.  I was hoping someone could recommend a container that I can take out through the bottom coin door.

I used the bottom 1/3 of a box of wheat thins or something wrapped in duct tape.  It works great.

I was hoping for something a little more substantial than that if possible, maybe metal, wood or plastic.

Well, I don't have the inclination right now to search to see what you are using as a coin door and how you have mounted it.

If you make cross-link the pictures to this thread, people will have an easier time making recommendations.

I'm just using a tupperware-style bowl. Works great.

I hear ya. How hard is it to post a link? I haven't bothered looking.

True ... if it's a Midway-style door, then there are lots of options. If it is an over-under door, then there are obvious options. It all depends and specifics makes it easier for people to provide quality advice.

It's an over/under.  Here's the pic of the cutout.

OK, in absence of seeing whether or not the door has the enclosure built-in or not (indeed, if it is a CoinCo or Happ door and whether or not you have an enclosure), I would suggest a simple bread pan as it will fit in the bottom of the cab or likely inside the enclosure.

Or, the appropriate coin box for the door is always a good choice.  ;)
