So, I've been playing around with photoshop and designed three totally different marquees for my cab. I am pretty undecided as to which one to use for my cab. The choice will also affect all of my switchable control panels as well (I plan to use parts of the marquee as a footer for each control panel).
So let me know your vote as well as your critique to make the marquee even better.
Thanks in advance

1 is off-balance. I dunno what it is about it, but it just looks odd.
2 doesn't give me a very "arcade" feel. The cab seems tacked on in an attempt to make it fit.
3 is definitely out. It's way too dark and probably wouldn't light well.
Sorry, but "none of the above" is my answer so far.

Ok that's one for back to the drawing board, I'll add that as a voting option too ::)

With ginsu on this one, but then its not my cab so dont want to be overly critical, the 3rd is def out for the reason ginsu mentioned, the 2nd one just seems a bit bland and not very marqeeish, the 1st is close but needs some tweaking. I would consider bringing the name and oval in from the edges a bit, 2-3 inches, and possibly look at the A & B color, as it stands they kinda stand out to much from the rest.

I agree. I thought the rounded edges were too close to the ends. Bring 'em in some, and change the letters to all one color. I did like the first marquee best of the three.

Ok, I shrank it by 10% width-wise, removed some lines that annoyed me, as well as the bevel in two areas that bothered me. Here is the result - one with red letters and one without.

Okay that looks slightly better IMO, the one with all white letters is looking the better of the two.
I would also play around with the bars at the top and bottom of the letters, they are kinda making it unbalanced, too much emphasis is on the right of the marquee

Hmmm, not much I can do about the bars, unless I scrap the font. The bars are part of the font. Hmmm, time to search for another font on the net. ;)

I think #2 is the keenest, though it needs more contrast to make the letters stand out from the background.

ArcadeBliss....I think #1 is best....something bout the contrast shows out more...( your eyes would be attracted to it upon first glance)...BUT i would change the font where the "R" is closed... :dunno

Well my wife let me know *hint hint* that Marquee #1 is the only one she would accept or, as a few here have pointed out, I should make a new design. In any case, I finish this up this weekend and send something out to be printed thereafter.

When you're ready to have that printed, just click the link in my sig. ;D
