I'm running Mamewah 1.65 and am using the 80's Arcade skin by Magnet Eye in 800x600. Was working great, until I decided tonight to download the history.dat file and put that into my mame directory.
Now, when I launch Mamewah the marquee shows up where it should for a second and then disappears - replaced by the game history scrolling by. What the heck happened? How do I fix this???

Try downloading (http://www.mameworld.info/ubbthreads/showflat.php?Cat=&Number=194624&page=0&view=collapsed&sb=5&o=&fpart=1&vc=1&new=1246405378) the latest version to see if it fixes your problem.

Nope, that didn't fix it. I've looked and don't even see where you can set up the area to display the game history in the layout designer, but I do see the "delay_before_history_dat" setting.

Set that to 0 (zero) to disable it.
FYI, you can set the artwork # you want it to display in with 'history_dat_artwork_no' in your emulator.ini file.
Also note you can view the history.dat file by using the menu or an input (instead of using the timer) if you like.

Thanks, that fixed it! I just added movie previews and they are working nicely... However, on vertical games I get grey sides on either side. Is there any way to change that to black and keep the movie in the correct aspect ratio?

What do you have keep_movie_preview_aspect set to in mamewah.ini? Is the aspect definately wrong? Most games will always have borders either top/bottom or left/right as the aspect ratio of the game will rarely match the ratio of the artwork box exactly.
If you want it to just fill the artwork box (and not keep aspect ratio) then set the above option to 'no'. Also try 'video_aspect' if you don't like how it looks with 'game_aspect' - this should keep the original ratio of the video.

It was set to game_aspect. I thought changing it to video_aspect would have fixed the problem since all the videos are 320x240 (from EmuMovies) but that didn't fix it either. Setting it to "no" did fix the problem so now there are no grey sides on the vertical games - and since the videos were 320x240 with the correct aspect ratio, they don't look stretched.
