in mamewah, on the games list part, i have several versions of each game. i didnt download them separately, but for some reason they appear, i guess because of the parent rom. so i have stuff like Outrun and Outrun (version 1) or whatever. so i looked at the file name (zip file) of the version 1 game, and got rid of that, well now the regular game wont run. it says files are missing when they are not. i have unzipped all the zip files, so the files are there, but for some reason the zip files themselves have to be in there. how do i get rid of these games on my lists and still have the game work?

Don't delete / unzip your ROMs - that is probably a bad idea...
Do this:
1) 'Games List Options' > 'Select Custom List'
2) Pick a custom list
3) Go into 'Generate Custom List using Filters'
4) Adjust the 'Show Clones' setting to 'No' or 'Only if Parent is Broken'
5) Hit P2 Start to come out of the options and generate the list

well i did that, and i get an error that says "error 9 : subscript out of range" or something like that. other suggestions?

I was getting that error I think that was a bug, grab the latest version v0.952b this workd fine for me now.

been playing around with mamewah....and i removed a game from my custom list, but i want it back in. how do i do that? i didnt see an "add game" feature. is there one??

The 'Add Game to Custom List' option is only available when the 'Main List' is selected.
