Just wondering if MameWAH has an option that lets it play background music (mp3, wav, etc...) while you are scrolling the menus? Thanks in advance for any info! ;D
-
Yes it sure does... although i'm not in front of it right now so I can't tell you exactly where.
I just wish there was a way to have mamewah lower the volume during browsing then max it up right before starting a game (but after it stops playing the mp3).

Go into 'Audio Options' and enter the 'MP3 Path', and set 'Play MP3's While Browsing' to 'Yes'.
Only works with MP3's atm, but next version will support WAV's and MID's...

No not at the moment, wish it did.
Is this something you could add Minwah ?

Actually, my WIP version does do this now - so the next release will...

Thanks for all the info everyone! I actually don't have MameWAH on my machine yet, but it looks like it has all the features I'm after. This is more than likely the frontend I'll use, as long as I can run it with my system specs! Is it a real power hog? I guess my next question would be what are the minimum system requirements for MameWAH?

It'll run on practically anything capable of running Windows 98. I had it running on my old P2 333 the other week - no problems at all :)
Of course it depends how complicated (graphic intensive) you want to make your layouts, but the standard ones are pretty much designed for performance.
Have fun...

Cool! That sounds great. I guess I just have one more question (for now!). Does MameWAH run some type of screen saver when not being used? Again, thanks in advance for any info! ;D

Yes, you can pick:
Blank Screen,
Slide Show (shows artwork images),
Run Selected Game,
Run Random Game,
Run Random Game using Wrapper (ie Howards emusaver),
Launch External (.SCR) Screen-saver,
Shut Down (the PC)...
...and 'Movie Show' will be in the next version ;)

WOW! That's amazing! Can I set MameWAH to take out the trash too?!?! ;) Minwah, thanks a bunch for replying to all of my questions, and thanks for designing such a wonderful frontend for all of us. I appreciate it very much! I can't wait to go download MameWAH and start setting it up on my almost complete cabinet!! ;D

When Movie Show becomes an option, will we also be able to display movie files in our skins?

No...but it might make it's way in some day. I take it you mean like video previews for games?
-
Right. Like somewhere I downloaded a collection of tiny little video previews for a bunch of classic games. Would be cool to be able to display those in place of a like... title shot or something. Also, does anyone know of a way in DK to set up an art element to autochoose between two elements? I.E. if a movie file is there, display the movie file, otherwise, display the Title screen.
