G'Day all
I have a Street Fighter II cab with a PC in side Running MAME32, with an ulitmarc arcadevga card in it.
The problem is that sometimes the sinc ok light doesn't light, and all the time I have a jumbled mess of colour instead of a picture no matter what setting I put the KHz jumpers on.
Not sure what type of chassis I have and don't know how to find out.
I know the monitor was working before as i saw it running when I bought the cab, they put a JAMMA board in to show me.
Would appreciate any help as this is the last step to finishing my cab off.

My first guess is this is a software issue as like you say it was fine with the JAMMA PCB's. Get your PC hooked up to a regular PC monitor first and be sure you follow the relevant documentation on setting up an ArcadeVGA and your PC's desktop and emulators. Remember they will need to be at a lower resolutionn colour depth and refresh rate than you would normally run on a desktop.

Sync light- you're using a J-pac as well yes?(I don't think the arcadeVGA card has one- well mine doesn't).
Does it sometimes work perfectly? If so I'd suspect a bad connection on the video cabling on the cab side of the cabinet. Their should be 5 video wires on the Jamma plug- often the video ground is missing. Check each cable and also see if a video ground is fitted.

yes....Sorry forgot to mention I was running a Jpac
works fine on a Monitor out of the second port but looking at the prefs pannel and the monitor setting doesnt show the 2nd monitor (jpac/cab monitor) attached.
am going to get hold of a MK4 JAMMA board tonoght and see if it works OK with the monitor

OK
1. Which version of the arcadeVGA are you running- PCI-e or AGP?
2. IF PCI-e you have 2 ports- only the VGA port will work with your monitor. It will not work on the DVI-D port
Do you still have an issue?

ok
tried with an mk4, mk3 and NBA jam got the picture acceptable i think the EHT is on its last legs willtry to get a test chassis ( its great knowing people in the trade :) )
as the picture "wobbles" and i cant focus it, but anyway it goes
As for the jpac/arcadevga
swamprat96 1. Which version of the arcadeVGA are you running- PCI-e or AGP?-------- PCI-e
swamprat96 2. IF PCI-e you have 2 ports- only the VGA port will work with your monitor. It will not work on the DVI-D port----- Yes its in the VGA port i have a second
monitor 17" LCD so at least i can see that the PC is working.
the JPAC self test light does its 2 flashes and then stays lit, sync in light lights but the sync ok light never comes. and no pic on tube

OK I think get the monitor working properly first using a jamma source to test it is a good idea. Once you know it works fine then you can start with the arcadeVGA
While you are waiting did you check to see you have a video ground? Many jamma will work without this but the arcadeVGA prefers one
