Title: Yet another Neotec Nt-2701 lol
Post by: powerplay on June 29, 2009, 08:56:37 am
hey guys it's me again.....I have another Neotec Nt-2701 which has a different problem....I didn't upload pics for the fact that, there's no image to see... Here's the situation...Again this is a Neotec Monitor Chassis 27" Nt-2701....

Symptom

I have Nec glow & High Voltage ( I can hear the click come on), but I have no picture whatsoever in the screen....

Here's what's been replaced:

Complete Cap kit
"Chicklet Cap kit" - C419 - C421 - C423 & C450
Swap Nec boards witha working one
Tried a different Control board, nothing...
Replaced IC901 in Nec board as well as transistors
Flyback

If there's anything else I should be looking at please let me know... As always thanks for all the help guys...

Check resistors R431 (10k 1/4 watt) and R432 (22k 1/2 watt) for burnt/open condition. If found bad, it's because electrolytic capacitor C424 is shorted. C424 is 10 uf @ 50 volts, but I suggest upgrading it to 10 uf @ 160 volts to prevent future failures. All three of these parts are located near the edge of the board by the vertical output heatsink.

Ken...Somehow this board has these components a little different....R431 its (68 ohms @ 1/4 w)......R432 is (1k ohms @ 1/4w)....and there is no C424...., there is a C423...... I measure the resistors and they were reading good in and out of circuit and don't look burn....I can take some close up pics to show you the different resistors...thanks for the help

There are some differences in the 2701 chassis during the production run so some part values/locations may be different.

Thanks for that info Ken cause I sure did not know there were some differences.....Most of the models we have look identical.....Is there anything else I could look at?....The glow in the nec  of the crt is on but very dim....I can see it in a light room but is dim.....I don't know if that helps...COuld it be something in my B+, I tried messing wiht it but I still have no image even if it's between it's ranges....Thanks again for your help

The 2700 series was made in two versions: "Li-Chin" and "Fully Family" (silkscreened names on boards).
