Title: Michael Jacksons Moonwalker
Post by: rbarr110 on June 25, 2009, 06:16:38 pm
Michael Jackson dead at 50 .... strangely enough this was posted on my local Craigslist the day before

http://seattle.craigslist.org/tac/clt/1238185976.html

Coincidence?  I think not.

On a side note, anyone ever play that game?  I never knew it existed.

Currently CNN (---fudgesicle--- cnn!) is reporting it as a coma (and they are full of ---steaming pile of meadow muffin---). This link is constantly changing

CNN is just being cautious, several places report he is dead, Reuters, LA Times, plus others.

I just posted this in EE forum, thought I was getting the scoop on everyone.

Can you imagine the tribute videos that are about to hit the Youtube?

I played the crap outta that game. Was at my local mall's TimeOut, in the corner under the air conditioning vent, sound turned up to 11. The Genesis version was similar but not as fun as the arcade version IIRC. I remember screenshots of it being on the box of the Genesis a full year or two before the game actually came out.

I hate the arcade game. I like the Genesis/SMS Shinobi ripoff, though.

Celebrity deaths usually come in threes. Who do you predict is next? My prediction is Richard Simmons.

Ed McMahon
Farah Fawcett
Michael Jackson
Makes 3.

Unless Ed McMahon's death yesterday is too far back to count.

Jeff Goldblum apparently died today, as well. A fall during filming, but nothing (including his death) actually confirmed yet.

Edit: I'm a bit skeptical of this one, though.

scary that I see this game posted here.  My girlfriend and I just played through it in honor of the guy.  (It took all of 15 minutes)

There's something very disturbing about the following parts of this game:

1.  Michael Jackson rescuing little children....
2.  The sound every time you insert a quarter.
3.  Michael's face at the start of every level as he screams.
4.  Children running towards you at the end of every level.
5.  Being attacked by robots with gigantic penises.
6.  At the end of the game it mentions a future adventure that Michael will have with the children.....

The guy was no doubt weird.
Lets hope his house was in order, and that he rests in peace.

Aabra you are 100% right.

My friends & I have been saying that for years, notice at the end the ship looks like a concord mixed with a weiner & the thrusting cockbots are just wrong indeed.

The "bow" at each level is awesome tho......

Oh I'm not denying the fact that it's awesome.  That doesn't change the fact that it's disturbing though!  :)

@ ginsu. Your first problem was getting your info off the state run CNN. All the major news outlets had the story all f'ed up all day. Surprise, surprise.
As for his house in order, he still owes $300 million to debtors. No resting in peace where he's at now :P

I'm a conservative. I hate CNN. I was just using the news link because it was being discussed in Everything Else and that was the link they cited. When I clicked it, it said the info was "current as of 1 min ago" and could not see what they would gain by lying about MJ, since it wasn't political.

Believe me, I regretted citing that URL pretty quick.

The $#!+storm is just starting.  No one knows where the doctor is that was with him when he passed out.  There's undoubtedly a lengthy battle ahead for custody of his kids and whatever's left of his estate.  And who knows what secrets will be unveiled in tell-all interviews now that he's not around to defend himself.  This is one guy who's not going to be able to rest for a while...

But one thing's for sure--now we'll NEVER know what "sha'mone" meant...  ???

No worries mate! I hate them all equally. Conservative here too. The whole spectrum makes me sick.

In a way I feel a little bad for the freak. But not much.

Arcade game - great fun.
Megadrive game - average.
His music - excellent.
The bloke - seriously questionable.

His legacy - superb.

MJ's music and dancing was awesome.  Especially in the '80's, the golden years.

His Thriller, Bad, and Dangerous albums were absolute sensations.

I remember seeing his 3D movie "Captain EO" at Disneyland in 1987.  Very cool.

To his credit, he died trying to make a comeback.  Good on him for giving it his all.  It's too bad "the final curtain call" had to be this.

He was eccentric, that's for sure.  But it's not a crime to be eccentric.  He deserves the benefit of the doubt.  Everybody deserves that.

Sure, he had his Neverland ranch full of amusement games, but we like our amusement games too.  He just did what we're doing on a grander scale.

Neverland will become the new Graceland.

As for the accusations with children, he was found innocent by a panel of jurors.  The police searched his house and computer from top to bottom, and found nothing.  The mother of the accusers had a history of trying to obtain payouts through lawsuits, she had previously sued a department store for a few hundred thousand dollars ... she was caught shoplifting, but had the audacity to sue them, claiming the security guard "assaulted" her.

MJ was a rock icon, and that's how he deserves to be remembered.    :applaud:

Hey, you forgot to mention "OFF THE WALL", which is also a quintessential MJ album that should not be overlooked.

And yeah, MJ deserves to be remembered to his outstanding contribution to popular music.  His eccentricities and the allegations overshadowed it and it's very unfortunate.

That isn't truly a question. If you ask one, I'll answer it.

Man, the stuff in that Jackson history link is ---smurfin--- hilarious. I'm all for changing physiological make-up - wouldn't it be cool to be a hummingbird, dolphin, or even something non-terrestrial in configuration? - but the methods available....well, paraphrasing Bones in Star Trek IV: damn witch doctors.

So I made this a couple years ago, by request. I have it in vector .psd format if anybody wants it. I had the whole control panel made too, but I can't find it.
