Does anyone have any experience hooking up Happ dual pedals (http://www.happcontrols.com/driving/50806001.htm) to a hacked Dual Strike? I'm having all kinds of problems.
I'll be the first to admit that my ability to solder/desolder is very poor. That being said, I believe I hooked up everything right, but I may have screwed up the Dual Strike. I tried multiple combinations and got some really strange results.
I hooked them up and was testing with Pole Position. MAME tried to use the dual strike to steer instead of perform as pedals. I pressed tab to go into the game input settings and things were really strange. I couldn't get the settings to change even though the game did detect the dual strike input.
Then I changed wiring and I got some different behavior. I apologize for not being more specific, but it was at 12:30 am and I was tired of fooling with it.
So....
1) How can I determine if I messed up the Dual Strike?
2) If the Dual Strike is functioning properly, how do I wire these pedals to work?

The Dual Strike is a joystick/game pad. So, in Windows, go to the Game Controllers menu in the Control Panel and verify that the pedals move the axis as you expect. If that works correctly (you will have to calibrate it), then MAME should work with the correct settings. I use a Dual Strike for my pair of pedals on my Championship Sprint -> MAME cabinet and it works great.

Okay...
My cabinet runs Ubuntu, I'm sure there's some utility like that. Or maybe I can hook it up to my laptop.
Thanks. I have a feeling I'll be posting back.

Sorry, I just assumed you were running Windows. Anyway, there should be a Linux utility to do the same thing.
