Title: Wells Gardner 25K5191
Post by: dieseldogpi on June 23, 2009, 05:37:59 pm
I am a total noob at this, first post actually.  I did searches and went through the FAQ as well and could not find my answer.  I got an almost empty golden tee fore (2003?) cabinet.  The guy gave me a monitor as well he said was non-working, said it was blurry.  After getting the info off of the monitor I found:
model#: 25K5191
Serial #: WGM2550-U4GR17J
I beleive the daughter boards are: P538 & P719 (these I'm not 100% as I don't
I'm looking for general info on this monitor.  I've only found stuff on 25K7191.  Is this similar, a later version.  There is no switching power supply left in the cabinet, and there are no extra wires coming off of Any info would be appreciated.  Even if this thing is a P.O.S. and I should just throw it out.

I believe you have a U5000.  Let's see a picture.

Yeah, let's see a picture of that chassis.... some of that information just doesn't jive.
Some points towards a U5000 and some to a K7000.

A U5000 would be a P738 not a P538.

P738,  sorry,  I mixed that one up.  I'll get a couple of pics up in about an hour or so.

I don't know, anything.  is it something worth spending my time to trouble shoot?  does this one look decent enough?  Again, I can't figure out where the power supply will connect to, and I read through the manual.  Might sound kind of dumb, but this is my first venture into arcades and monitors.  here are some other close ups of the condition and stuff.  any thoughts or comments will be appreciated.

Well, they aren't terrible monitors, but have been known to be difficult to troubleshoot when certain things go wrong.
"fuzzy" could be a number of things. From a simple loose wire to a bad flyback.
That one is currently set to 15khz mode, which is common anyways.

What are you planning on running on this if you get it up and running?

The power connector is circled in red.
No isolation transformer required.
The two outer pins are AC and the middle pin is ground.

Awesome, thanks for the help with the power connection.  I'm still not 100% sure what I'm going to run.  I am probably going to keep it a dedicated Golden Tee machine for now, to keep it somewhat simple.  in the future might try to set something up where I can swap between MAME and golden tee (i know completely different components).  Thanks again for the info.
