Title: Premade small case for an arcade monitor?
Post by: GaryMcT on June 23, 2009, 03:39:40 pm
I'd like to have a small, hopefully pre-made case for a spare 19" arcade/VGA monitor for when it's sitting on my desk so that no person and/or animal gets shocked.  Is there such a product, or do I have to build something?

Well, you might be able to just get away with decasing an old TV and putting your arcade monitor in there.  You might have to do some modification to the plastic case a little though.

Something like this might work: http://cgi.ebay.com/RCA-XL-100-TV-19-PICK-UP-MORAGA-CA-94556-WORKS-FINE_W0QQitemZ280353386871QQcmdZViewItemQQptZTelevisions?hash=item41465d3177&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=65%3A12|66%3A2|39%3A1|72%3A1205|240%3A1318|301%3A1|293%3A1|294%3A50 (http://cgi.ebay.com/RCA-XL-100-TV-19-PICK-UP-MORAGA-CA-94556-WORKS-FINE_W0QQitemZ280353386871QQcmdZViewItemQQptZTelevisions?hash=item41465d3177&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=65%3A12|66%3A2|39%3A1|72%3A1205|240%3A1318|301%3A1|293%3A1|294%3A50)

I bet an even older and hopefully wooden case would be even better.

Go down to your local TV repair shop and see what kind of stuff they are throwing away.
