Buy a flush mount VESA mount, attach it to a cross beam, and attach that cross beam to the interior walls of your cab?

I'm planning on doing that, except make it a rotating monitor. My plan is to buy a VESA mount, cut out a circle of MDF, screw it all together and wire it up to a motor of some sort. Then I just have to work out how to get HyperSpin to rotate it for vertical games!

I'm using this mount in the old cabinet I'm converting:

I decided a while ago not to go the motor route and keep it simple (less moving parts=less maintenance). It will be really easy to open the CP, reach in and turn it. I'm far from deciding on a front end, though. Mala? Hyperspin? MameWAH? Which of these will switch from a horizontal menu to a vertical on the fly?

My advise is just get a big CRT. If you stick with the LCD, Make sure your LCD has good viewing angles, go off to the left / and right to see if the picture changes (while vertical). I had mine on a rotating vesa arm and ended up going with a CRT in the end.
I had this one: http://www.ergotron.com/Products/tabid/65/PRDID/126/language/en-US/default.aspx
was cheap and had it's own stand so no need to actually mount it to the cab itself..
