Revert back to 7...
I too gave up on IE, until FireFox started acting up (seriously, it would take 5 minutes for it to delete something from the History or Bookmarks, and the "process" would stay active after closing the browser) so I was forced to go back.

Firefox 3.5 RC2 is very nice.
If it gives me problems, Chrome is also very slick. If those didnt work, Opera would be next on my list. Havent used IE in years.

Mine started doing the same damn thing. I don't think it started until a few days AFTER it was installed though. Seemed fine for a couple. The one thing that did start from day 1? Delayed response when typing into text boxes like these.
I chucked IE8 a few days ago, and everything's reverted back to normal. IE7 works just fine, and I didn't need anything 8 had to offer anyhow.

Yes, also for PC.

If it's Vista, yes, just go into the CP, then Programs and Features. On the left side, look at the Installed Updates. You'll find IE8 in there somewhere, then just uninstall it.

Hi, this is Feran with the Internet Explorer Outreach Team. Like suggested earlier, try enabling the compatibility view – this is the broken page icon next to the refresh button on the tool bar. Also if you’re experiencing any slowness/delays you may be running too many add-ons. In IE go to ‘tools’ and ‘manage add-ons’ then disable/enable. Disabling any unnecessary add-ons may help your Internet run faster. Try disabling add-ons with more than a .2 sec load time.
Thanks,
Feran

Wow...so you're just browsing the web for complaints about ie8? That's just strange.
I had no add-ons going, and text entry was always delayed.
Why would I want to have to enable compatibility view? That requires me to perform another step when loading a webpage. No, thanks.
ie7 performs just fine.

....that still exists?

It's interesting, surely. And perhaps they are at that.
I tried out Firefox about four or five years ago, but didn't like some things about it. Have just stuck with IE(7), since.
