Title: Anyone know the default dips for Pole Position in the US?

And does mame have these by default?...has it changed over time?

Thanks. Hmmm. According to page 22, the manufacturer's recommended setting for practice rank is C, which equals 58.50 seconds. For racing times, it recommends B. The mame history dat only shows the C settings, and mame since at least .104 has defaulted at A for both - which is 57.5 seconds. (G is 57!)

Incidentally, for anyone curious, apparently the top speed possible is 244mph, via settings G or H.

Something else interesting is that settings the dips on or off will result in two types of behavior for each ranking. I swore after coming across mame that I saw PP back in the day allowing four laps. Well. That's because I saw the cockpit first - and the (recommended) B setting 'off' equals four laps. The upright, however, is recommended 'on', which equals three laps. Add to that, between the two machines there's a flip-flop of difference in times awarded into the second and third laps.
