Title: 2x HAPPS optical rotaries - 37shipped each, 70 for pair US/GA/Kenn.
Post by: cptnwhlz on June 15, 2009, 02:24:04 pm

-Optical rotaries are not in 100% perfect condition, but are still nice and fully functional.  The metal bar that protrudes past the bottom that you plug the wheel into has some oxidization on it, not full blown rust, but is discolored.  Like most other happs rotaries, the optical encoders are finicky and need to be at a tilted angle.

They do not have the wiring harness that plugs into the encoder board, but you can get a connector easily or just solder right onto it.  The micro switches have a little solder residue from when i originally soldered my whole setup, which i can do another cleanup of if they do sell.

Rotaries at 37 shipped each.  Together for 70.

How much are you selling them for?
Will you sell them seperately?

I do not have a price yet and I would really rather get rid of them at once unless both are taken at the same time.

Im going to need about 4 8 ways and a bunch of buttons soon and I could always use a router =)  I just hate seeing the opticals un used.  I was about to hack them into spinners but decided I could give back and trade them!

I've got two 8-ways and would replace 2 8-ways with these if you want to add that into your price consideration...

what kind of 8 ways?

They are about 53 each new, so would 40 each sound fair?  If you have something to trade it can definitely cut into that too

The 8-ways are from the X-arcade do-it-yourself kit.

Actually, you can get new ones on eBay for $40 each plus shipping, which works out to about $10 for 2.

So, I guess $40 per for used ones seems a little steep to me.

Would that be $40 shipped?

Do you have pics of the oxidation?

Here are some pics of the oxidization.  It looks alot worse in the pictures, and sorry for the blurriness, crap camera.  You cant feel the "rust" and I have since oiled them to prevent anything else.  The first two pics are of 1 and the other is of another, I can try to get better pics too, because they look twice as brown in these pics as they do to the eye =(

I would love to trade up to some 360s and ill throw in some cash, but I know that's wishful thinking.
