Just wondering if anyone had any experinece in this. I'm trying to keep my costs down if I can and if I could wire it this way, it would be the cheapest method.
TRACKBALL (http://www.wicothesource.com/new2/pages/page89.htm)
INTERFACE (http://www.oscarcontrols.com/cgi-bin/cart.pl?DT=1)

I have a Wico 2.25" trackball and the Oscar USB interface.
Works like a charm. I am pretty sure the connectors are the same.

Both are wired into one oscar interface?
Cool. Then I only have to buy one

I hope Mike meant Optipac :) Anyway, you cna hook two trackballs to an optipac. So you should have no problems.

I'm trying to avoid buying an optipac actually, so I hope he meant oscar's interface

Oh, in that case oscar's interface is just a mouse hack. If Mike has both hooked to it then you can't use them at the same time. The trackball just make a decent second playter spinner if that is ever needed (hmmm, warlords).

Thats fine. Dont expect too play many two player spinner\trackball games. thats mainly for one player stuff. I got the two stick and buttons for most 2 player games

sort of off topic, but not that much. at ultimarc's site, they say that the trackball they offer is fitted to work with te optipac. can this work with oscars usb mouse interface, or must i buy a tb from wicothesource? and if i want the interface with 2 buttons, i only need 1 (interface) , right? asking b/c it says spineer interface and a trackball has double the axis of a spinner.

you should be able to get almost any tball working with either interface.

Only one interface is required for a trackball. Both the x- and y-axes are able to be used on the USB mouse interface since a pin header for each axis is present.
