That said, they have home gender prediction tests?

Woot, congrats to you and the missus! Tell the father I said congrats too, ok? ;D
I can't see their detection mechanism being a secret - everything about the hormones and placenta and such are pretty much out there in medical science. The lab process might be, though. Could easily be that they have come up with a more effective way of measuring whatever it is than anyone has had.
I'm curious, though, if that sort of thing needs FDA approval, since it's not actually going into a person during the test (I assume). I mean it's got a near 50-50 chance of being right no matter what...
You're correct in your assumption... the woman pee's in a cup, then uses a syringe to inject said urine in to a 2nd cup that has a powedery chemical in it. You swirl it around for a minute then let it stand for 10 minutes. Green/Blue and it's a boy... Pink/Yellow it's a girl.
LMAO. How about some links to their clinical studies. Surely something like this would find its way into the New England Journal of Medicine or some such publication. Who the eff develops a product like this and then uses testimonials rather than scientific results to bolster the claim? Snake oil salesmen, that's who. ;D
Have fun with it, though! I suppose I've purchased a couple of lottery tickets in my life which is far more ridiculous (though they're only $1 a pop rather than $35 ;D).
I just talked to sis-in-law... she said she's had a dozen or so people come in who've used this product... she says the product got 10 out of 12 right... but yeah, it's just a fun thing to do. Now when we go in, we won't be telling the doc what result we got until after he tells us his result...

And if it turns lightly golden...it's a Budweiser.
NEW YORK — Six New York City mothers are suing the makers of a baby gender test that touted its product as "infallibly accurate," saying the test results they received were wrong.
In papers filed in Manhattan Supreme Court, the women claimed they received incorrect results from the $275 Baby Gender Mentor test by Acu-Gen Biolab Inc., of Lowell, Mass.
Maybe hedge your bets before buying clothes Frizz...

Different company... and 82% accuracy seems be about 18% away from infallible...
:)
Congrats on the Boy!
Just dont buy one of those $30.00 fetal heart monitors.

Its just a rip-off, playing on the pregnant hormones of women. The 'I just gotta hear his heartbeat' hormone that all women get. They dont work unless your in a soundproof room and you'll probabaly hear the mother's heartbeat before Jr's. We bought one and the doctor laughed and told us we got suckered! He said it isnt near strong enough to pick up the hearbeat through the 'sack', uterus wall, layers of mama fat and skin.
The booklet inside says you need to be in a soundproof room and 'use special care to enjoy this product' whatever the hell that means!
:applaud: Again, Congras on the Boy! :applaud:

Congrats on the boy. I stand by my argument that girls are awesome.
Welp...it's confirmed...I'm having a boy!
You can rent a hospital grade monitor for like $20/month. We did that since mommy and baby were susceptible to tachycardia...and to ease mommie's concerns.
Congrats on the Boy!
