Hey there. Newbie to the forum, but built a Mame machine a year ago....working on my second one now. I had Happ Super 8's in my first cabinet and I have to say that diagonal use was VERY crappy! Really messed up the feel of awesome games like MK2 when you go to jump backwards or forward and instead you jump up and down :-\ I know others have said to bend in the micro switch levers a bit, but that didn't solve the problem...just help somewhat. I don't remember ever jumping up and down years ago playing MK's and street fighters in the middle of a heated battle or I would have surely quit playing video games (yeah right)! Thanks for the time guys! Matt :)

Is the actuator on the bottom turned the right way? The fat part should be facing up to press the micros better.

Yes, if you have the actuator the right way, you shouldn't have to bend the switches at all...

Your actuator HAS to be upside down. Those Happ Sticks usually favor the diagonals, and not the primary directions.

Favor the diagonals? I certainly haven't experienced that with my super's. They seem to work best with the 4 basic directions, but I can use the diagonals too. They work out really well for the games I play.

if you want to play well with games like MK or SF....
maybe you should try competition....
(I personally find it best for 8 way games...)
and for 4 way games like mspacman and pang3....
I am now using a J-stick in 4 way mode....
and up to my knowledge.... they share the same mounting points... so, if you want to invest a little bit.... replace the Super with Competition and try it....
;) ;D

Thanks for the feedback guys! I'm going to build a quad panel with an extra 4 way, but already have 2 super sticks. I think I'm going to try the competition stick for the main 2 players and put the super sticks in player's 3 and 4. If the competition feel better, I'll replace the original two!

I have yet to use a non-Wico microswitch based 8-way stick that didn't favor the diagonals. Maybe it is just the stuff I have happened to own, but I have owned a lot of different sticks.
