Title: LED Blinky / LED-Wiz numbered ports question
Post by: markronz on June 08, 2009, 08:36:36 pm
I am in the process of wiring up my new LED-Wiz.   I see that there are a lot of animations that come with the LED Blinky software.   Is there a certain order I should be wiring up my controls to the numbered slots so that the animations will still work as they are supposed to?

For example, should go left to right and wire them up from 1 to 32 or something?   Or is there no real rhyme or reason to the animations that come with LED Blinky?

I will probably make a few animations of my own anyway, but I just wanted to check before I wired everything up in case I want to make use of the pre-built animations.

Thanks!

Those animations (designed by headkaze) work best when your LEDs are wired in sequence. For example, P1B1 RGB to ports 1/2/3, P1B2 RGB to ports 4/5/6, etc. That being said, I wouldn't worry about it - just wire however is physically easiest and cleanest under your cp. Then, if you're not happy with the provided animations, create your own. The editor interface takes a bit of getting use to, but after you understand how it works, creating the animations is pretty simple.
