Title: Best joystick for Xybots?

I know I'm strange, but Xybots was one of my all time favorites.  Right now I play it with and 8-way and use buttons to rotate, but I'd like to find a stick that works a little more like the original that I can use for other games, too.  I know, it's a pipe dream...

I'm thinking the Happ 8-way optical rotary may work fairly well for it.  Does anyone have any experience with how well this stick works for Xybots?

LS-30's work just fine.  I would assume the Happs would work just as well since they can be used as a replacement for Ikari Warriors according to Happs.

EDIT: Just noticed the "and use for other games".  For that, yeah the Ikari style would probably be a better bet.

They show up occasionally on eBay.  I got one a few years ago as this game is one of my favs too.  The rotating part is just a leaf switch when either way is rotated, nothing fancy IIRC.

I have yet to wire it up yet to my panel though.
