I searched on this and I am confused on the answer. I am building a mame for my boss, I have all the parts however I am stuck figuring out if a simple computer teamed up with a J-Pac will work for the video hooked up to my Hantrex arcade monitor. My own personal setup I have this with an arcadevga card, but i'm looking to save the $ 87-$ 100, to increase out of pocket costs. I read about the 15htz refresh sync rates and that's were I get lost. Somebody give me some help to see if this is a good idea or if I need to bite the bullet and drop the cash for the arcadevga card ??
Maybe something like this to save $$$$$$$

I have a golden tee board that I salvaged and decided to build a separate pedestal cab for it and used that to change the video to connect to a my LCD monitor in my MAME cabinet and it works fine, except when the board is set to 25K (mid resolution) the colors went different shades but when the board was set to 15k (low res), it worked like a charm.
