Title: WTB 5 or 6 VGA->SCART adapters [Lancashire, England]
Post by: sinkhead on June 05, 2009, 11:15:28 am
Hi,

I'm looking to buy five or six VGA to SCART adapters for, ideally, no more than £5 to £7 each. While my soldering skills aren't appalling, that many pins at that size is pushing it a bit too much, and I don't want to damage the PC or TV.

If you think you're in a position to help me, please get in touch by PM, including if you'd like to help but can't do it for a price as low as what I'm asking. I don't really know what to offer so I've just guessed, and if it's unreasonable it can be negotiated.

Thanks a lot

Sam

They can be bought right here - but not for the price you're asking though.

My apologies, I didn't read it closely and presumed it was only for large items.

Hm, I'm sure there was someone on these forums offering to make them for a small fee... Thanks for the link though.

There probably is.  Not sure who though.  Please edit your first post to include location info.

I'm an idiot. Checked Google and there were loads, as well as on eBay, Would an item like this (http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/2M-SCART-LEAD-TO-15-PIN-HD-VGA-SVGA-CABLE-SENT-NOW_W0QQitemZ130310614916QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_Computing_CablesConnectors_RL?hash=item1e571e2f84&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=65%3A12|66%3A2|39%3A1|72%3A1690|240%3A1318|301%3A0|293%3A1|294%3A50) be suitable, if I used a gender changer on the VGA end? The listing doesn't say it can be used the other way around but I see no reason why not. What the listing DOES say is that you shouldn't connect VCR/DVD players to an LCD screen designed purely for computers. That's to do with the refresh rate, right? If I use Soft-15KHz it should all be good?
