Title: Apply U360 map to other emulators?
Post by: Kayden on June 04, 2009, 11:32:47 pm
My Mala is set up to have P1 4 way and P2 mouse while in Mala.  When I load mame games, it applies the proper map for the game.  However, when I run zsnes through Mala, the map stays the same, so I have a 4 way and a mouse instead of two 8 ways.  How do I set everything up so other emulators load double 8 ways on game launch and revert to 4way+mouse when returning to Mala?

Which u360 plugin are you using?

I'm using fatfingers' plug in.

I read somewhere that you can make a batch file to do it, so I tried that, but it was really flakey.  Sometimes it wouldn't apply and sometimes it would apply after a while and other times running the batch file would make the screensaver mode turn on and when I quit the game, the only way I could get back into Mala was to hit the keyboard (sticks and mouse didn't work.)

Then I remembered the "default" map and modified that to be double 8s.  Then everything started working.

Ok... it's apparently not working.   :-\

Since I changed the default profile from mouse to 8 way, my second joystick stopped being a mouse in Mala.

In windows I had P2 a mouse.  Then I started Mala and the mouse stopped working.  I know it applies a mala map when mala starts, but that's set up to use a mouse...  I wonder if it's applying the mala map and then the default map...

I really wish I could find my solutions before I ask stupid questions.

I think I had both LED Blinky and FatFingers' trying to map the sticks.  :(

I didn't know that's what "Joystick Digital Restriction" meant.  Perhaps in a future version you could rename that to something like "Change U360 Map automatically" for other stupid people like me out there?

No worries. Glad you got it solved.
