:-\ Hi, a friend bought 3 of these screens and the Intal to your LG Flatron LCD, the problem was that the bar touched the glass with your fingers wet, greased, dirty, and the jukebox are frozen and will restart if not touchscreen and had worked to reinstall the driver of the touchscreen, and had to Uninstall and return to the screen and keyboard will fix the problem, according to the specifications of this screen is enduring Contaminant proof and liquid resistance, and other things but I think this screen is for domestic use and not for commercial use, was interested in asking one of these to try, any suggestions?

BEWARE if it doesnt have a Brand Name atached to it and it's from China! 80% of what comes from China are fakes, copies and immitations. If its coming from China, pay with a credit card so you can dispute the purchase later. So far, Ive had nothing but garbage from :censored: china! If it doesnt come from Europe, Australia or the North Americas, I wont buy it from eBay!

The ELO panels are fantastic i have never had a problem with them. Those and the 3m microtouch tend to be the most reliable.
-
 3M Touch sells glass as noted on its website, here in panama the offices of 3M, will send an email with the product specification to see if they can bring to Panama and know the cost, we will have a problem that they bring Wall Panama as people say! it's like riding a rhino!

I have just received and installed one of these
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=110385959806
Shipping was only a week to Ireland.
No instructions with it, so you need to figure out which side up the screen needs to be layed, and there are no instructins at all about which of the multitude of drivers you need to install, That all said, It took me about an hour to get it up and running and on first tests, seems acurate enough to play Mahjong etc.
I have noticed the old juddery finger as you try to drag and drop but i guess thats normal for any glass surface. Just need to use your finger nail in that case.
I haven't had a chance to test it under stress yet as Jukebox still under construction but first impression is that it will be fine.
-
I now have 3 different touchscreens at home. A 3M Microtouch on a CRT in my Megatouch, a 3M Mircotouch LCD in my jukebox and an ELO LCD Screen. I can drag objects around fine on those. Like the slider on my jukebox and the air hockey game on megatouch. When you say juddery finger is this response to dragging or just friction on your finger.
-
yeah, it's just the friction on my finger, probably a bit sweaty from working so hard.
-
Actually, was just thinking about that, I note when i run my finger across a normal monitor here at work there is no sticky juddering effect, There must be a extremely thin coating of something on a monitors sirface normaly, as the effect on the touchscreen kit is the same as natural glass, like if you try dragging something across your window pane, you'll get the idea. Wonder if there is some sort of film i can place over it to get that smooth drag? If so i should get that done soon before final build.
-
You will find if you put something over the touchscreen it will not work so i wouldn't suggest that. You just try giving the screen a polish, the 3m microtouch like int he megatouch or proteus cabs are glass but do not suffer from this juddering.
-
right, will just give it a clean then and hope that does it. Can i use normal alchol wipes etc on this panel, do you know, is it extra sensitive etc?
-
I use alcohol wipes without any problems, YMMV.

:) The glass touch screen will be good? elo mark and costs $ 89.99 for those who depend on that and more

This is slightly more but a much better buy as it includes the screen and controller all in one unit.

 Worth to the elo 182.50, shipping is free to any city in United States, will have to open a post with dhl in miami and also sent to Panama, about 12 pounds and cost almost 50 dollar shipping.
The GVision 17 turns and is not damaged and not worth.
-
Yeah, those kits look ok, the problem for me is that US shipping to Ireland is extortionate, I would be paying between 50/70 dollars for shipping alone.
using the Panel kit i managed to get monitor in ireland and kit from Hong Kong for about 160€ total. Including shipping.
