Hi anyone.

I have just released a remake of one of my favorite game, which can been fairly played on a arcade cabinet.  :D

Ahh yes, I remember playing H.E.R.O a couple of years (*shudder*- decades) ago.

Just downloaded it & played a bit on my keyboard.  Very nice!

I played the Atari 8-bit version mostly (I think it's identical to the 2600 version) & it's weird having a 2nd button for bomb drop instead of pulling down on the joystick.  I went into the control.in to change bomb drop to down arrow & it felt better.  Come to think of it, does this game even utilize the down control?  It seems that you only move left & right & hover/lift by pushing up, and all the down action happens automatically...

The problem was players who have not played the original game did not like the down key and got confused, why I remapped this as a separated key to Alt Left.

Howover, as you found, its easy to remap the bomb key back to down for those who have played it. Down Key is else wice only used in menus and hiscore, so no problems for remap the bomb to down.

This game have been updated to beta version 0.9g with coubly of bug fixes (hence it still a beta).

Even the newest version have a typical keyboard insert to the hiscore, you can still write your name using joystick.... So no cabinet freindly loss.

NB. you need to remap fire key again, due the string have been changed in config.ini.

I think I gonna need to bumb my own game which is now have version 1.02 and have 15 costume levels as well the 20 levels from the original.

This game is 100% cab safe for both Windows and Linux, and the config is a txt file and no admin config can been done in the game itself. These settings you can is sound and gfx set, which is no admin functions.

Wow can't believe I missed this.  I used to play this non-stop on the Apple ][.  Can't wait to try it out!   :notworthy:
