Did Microsoft or any other 3rd Party ever release a VGA Cable for the Original XBox?
I'd like to connect mine to an old VGA Monitor I have laying around. Thanks.

Hacks exist but it only puts out RGsB (Sync On Green) rather than RGBHV (Seperate sync). You can use external hardware to convert it to RGBHV.

However I think this may only work in Xbox Linux operations, and won't even work in XBMC or any actual Xbox games.

If you have a hacked xbox or you think you're capable of hacking one (it's not hard) you can load a vga hacked bios and in conjunction with a hacked cable the xbox will output vga beutifully.
Link to a topic including vga bios hack (http://forums.xbox-scene.com/index.php?showtopic=603901&mode=threaded&pid=4033512)
There is much more information elsewhere on xbox-scene too, that just where I learned how to patch the bios.

I might have to look into that... my projector has a VGA in but only goes up to S video...

I just used one of these copmponent to VGA breakout cables (http://www.infocus.com/Accessories/Cable/SP_VESA_ADPT_R.aspx) and ran it to my old epson projector with no problem. Finding one like that with the female RCA's was the trick
although it worked for my XBOX to my projector, maybe the projector was designed to accept the component signal through the VGA port :dunno
used it for years
just found this from RAM electronics, which may explain why it worked on my projector
"Many old HDTV's or Projectors use the "VGA" (HD15) connector for both RGB/HV and Component Video. Older CRT rear projection HDTV's are often very picky about the signals they will accept and may only accept RGB/HV in which case a Transcoding RGB to Component Video converter will be necessary. Many projectors will be quite happy with Component Video at various resolutions through their VGA connections, but you need to check the specs!
Front projection CRT's are quite often limited to RGB/HV and need transcoders from Component Video (Y-Pr-Pb). "

That's also a possibility... my projector is an InFocus... I'll check the specs. Thanks!

So can this be flashed to softmodded Bios or is this only for Xbox mod chips?

As long as you can put a bios that was not produced by M$ on your XBOX you should be able to do it if I understand correctly. I only do modchips myself so YMMV.
