I'm trying not to complain too much since many have it worse, but my latest issue with skin cancer stinks. The good news is that it is basal cell carcinoma which is the least serious variety. I have had it a few times before but this time it was on the top of my ear which required special surgery. They ended up going back to remove more tissue twice after the first removal. I went back in the fourth time(this is all in one morning BTW), all the cancer had been removed but the surgeon informed me that it would require a skin graft to close. That is what the long incision in front of my ear is from. Yes, that cotton dressing is indeed stitched directly to my ear. I was a little surprised when the surgeon told me of his plans for that.
Anyone else have problems like this? I go in to the dermatologist every six months and almost every time they cut or burn something off. I will be one big scar by the time I'm 50. I reckon it's from too many bad burns as a kid and my family history since my dad has the same issues.

Ha. Nope, I saw that. Agreed, my pic probably won't make anyone lose their lunch.
I'll post a pic tuesday when that sutured bandage comes off. I'm really curious now what it's going to look like. I thought it would be a much more minor surgery similar to what I've had in the past.

LOL, yeah, that was my joke when I got the biopsy done initially.
Went to use that joke with some of the neighborhood kids, but they are all too young to know who Mike Tyson is. :dunno
Hung around outside last night with all the neighbors and I'm taking the opportunity to warn all the kids about the danger of sunburns. When they ask what happened I say something like "This is why you don't want to forget to wear sunscreen". The looks on their faces have been priceless and it's a good lesson to boot.

When my nephew was around 4 or 5, he ordered chicken nuggets and fries at Wendy's. I patted my gut and told him "This is what happens when you live on nuggets and fries as a kid. He buried his face in mommie's shirt and bawled like crazy. It was hilarious!

I had a BCC removed from the bridge of my nose in February. It was pretty small and the picture is not nearly so bad looking. This stitches got really itchy by the end of the week that I had them.

That looks more like what I've had done in the past. Still sucks that it was on the face though. The rest of mine have been on the chest/shoulders. Thanks for posting, with pic even! Mysery loves company.

My brother had it, by not wearing a hat while working in the garden.
Pretty scary stuff, and he got treatment just by chance.
He wears a hat now. :o

At 3 weeks it really looked no different, but at 4 it looked pretty good. Better than I expected. Here it is at 5 weeks.
