Title: Admin account keeps logging on at boot up
Post by: Ummon on May 28, 2009, 04:37:50 am
Simply, I was a ---smurfin--- idiot and thought it might be cool to use instant sheller to only get rid of the windows screens on my main PC. Well, I decided it wasn't that great an advantage, and reset instant sheller, and then it ---smurfin--- goofed up my logon process. How do I make it NOT log onto the admin account without me doing it manually?

Type Start->Run and enter "control userpasswords2". Set the option "Users must enter a user name and password to use this computer."

Thank you, that worked. Now it boots right into the owner account (bad ol' admin account!), but that result isn't intuitive given the wording is as above. Weird.

I have a similar problem after resetting instant sheller
I get the login window showing up for a slit second...
it logs in automatically and every thing run fine
but it drives me crazy as it is the only windows element that shows up now
any ideas how to fix this?

You know, I originally didn't have that occuring (this was on my candy). Then it was, but it was at the Admin account, which for some reason wasn't logging in. Password wasn't set. Maybe the same issue as above on my other rig. I guess try to undo the whole thing, including passwords set in Windows. I don't mean from sheller, but go into Windows and unset passwords. That's what I'm speculating. Don't know how to do it, though.
