Has anyone had any artwork printed by Kinkos on their adhesive vinyl or their backlit film?
I was wondering how the quality was and how they price it.
-
there is no "color vinyl".
its plain white vinyl and they print on it.
Vinyl looks VERY nice and backlit film is the best you can buy for marquee..
Avoid photopaper..Its crap ! :P
My local charges $10 sq ft for vinyl and $20 sq ft for backlit paper.
Every location charges different ! (as far as I know)

They have ADHESIVE vinyl? Egad, why didn't anyone tell me this? I had my side art printed on photo paper only to have the edges lift after spray mounting. Redo anyone? :o

their adhesive vinyl is good - thought they admittedly call it a "short term" adhesive, only expected to be adhered for a max of 6 months. I used that once for a sign made for a show my band was playing in, but we took the sign down within 10 hours of putting it up. I haven't done my sideart yet but am curious if anyone has used the vinyl and how long you've had it "stuck" on your cab. I just picked up my backlit marquee from them and it came out excellent (colors are very vibrant, which I was scared of after they dulled out the colors of my CP overlays). Anyway, I was talking to the guy there more about the adhesive vinyl and he said that the vinyl should stick forever if used indoors, that the 6 month thing in their brochure is for use outdoors. Anyone have this stuff on their cab for a year or two? any problems?
-
Well.. taking into consideration that the stuff is used for banners and signs for outdoor use and on windows.. I would guess that that isn't much of an exaggeration.. think about it: 6 months outdoors? Inside, there is no concern over things like humidity, morning dew, daytime sunlight..

not sure about Kinkos (as I live in the uk), but the place my mum works for have been using coloured vinyl for that past 20 or so years (they make kiddies rides and use it for the '20p per ride' text)
very durable stuff

It sounds like you might be thinking of the colored vinyl that is cut into the shape of letters and such. That stuff is very durable (5+ years in extreme conditions). I think the material talked about in this thread is the inkjet printable material. If you can get 6 months out of that stuff without fading, you are doing well.
Indoors, it holds up much longer. Just don't park it by a window.
