Title: WG 19v1001 distorted image
Post by: Paul Olson on May 23, 2009, 02:16:56 pm
Any idea what would cause this distorted image? I am assuming it is a yoke alignment problem, but I really don't know anything about that. This monitor also has a questionable vertical circuit. I had a vertical line in the center, and couldn't find the problem; all of the transistors in the circuit tested OK. One day it magically fixed itself, and the picture shows what came up then. Any ideas?

Thanks,
Paul

vert position and linearity is off a bit .
position may be an adjustment . linearity will likely be a 'lytic cap that is changing value (in vertical circuitry) .
sudden performance changes that "magically fixed itself" can be loose connections on pcb.
time for a visual inspection of the pcb , and resolder anything that looks questionable....
