For an unknown reason when I put Mala to start with Windows or I manully put Mala shortcut to the start folder both solution will open Mala when Windows boot up BUT won't let me press button, neither on the keyboard. If I kill the Mala process and execute it manually, everything is fine.
Any idea why?

Sounds like MALA has lost focus.

Yeah, this is annoying. I had similar issues. To resolve it, you need to one by one, go through all the programs you have set to start up with windows, and start removing them. An easy way to do this is to boot windows, then go to your start -> run.. and in the popup dialog type "msconfig". A window will show up called the "System Config" window. Go to the [Startup] tab, and you will see a list of everything that is scheduled to boot up with windows. Go through the list and uncheck one by one, all the applications you deem as uncessary to the arcade cab. Hit "OK" button, and restart. Repeat the process until everything appears to be working in Mala. Then start the process in reverse, enabling applications until you figure out which one breaks it again. For me, I remember the ATI control panel being an issue.
Good luck! The Mala focus issue is a tough one.

Alright I will try to do it one by one. This is weird because I have formatted this computer to be sure to have a very light Windows XP... so I guess that all services that is running are the minimal for Windows... but I will try to test... :dunno

if you are using this in a cab why not use instantsheller and hide windows altogether

Instant Sheller is something to tweak Windows to have no boot logo or stuff like that. The problem I have is when Mala start, the joysticks work but not the button. I need to restart the Mala and all work... very weird.

instantsheller also starts Mala instead of getting windows to start Mala, this will most likely fix your problem.
any way to avoid relying on windows is a good thing ;D
