Title: DK Skins
Post by: Terry on July 04, 2003, 05:21:54 am
Well, I seem to have everything working properly with the DK front end.  I am very happy with it.

Now I get to have fun with my skin.  I am using skinner 3.0 which I assume is the only thing available.  I made my background and have positioned my elements.  The only thing I can't seem to figure out is how to get the title and snaps to toggle on the same field.  I did figure out that if I copy a working skin and do not make either the snap or title invisible during my design, it will somehow continue working (toggling) from the original skin.  But if at any time I turn off either of those, then I loose the toggle, and the title appears whever it lays in the layout.   Can you turn this feature back on again?

One other thing, I am trying to use the AltElement1 feature.  I am setting the path and directory of the AltElement1 in the dirs.ini files to my control panels folder.  They are all .PNG files, and I have created an AltElement1 in my layout.  But nothing appears in this field when running my skin in DK.

Any ideas?

Thanks again for all your great help.

Terry

Alt elements don't work yet.  They do on my latest personal build but i'm not releasing it until a few people play nice.

Toggle snaps, either you love em or you hate em.  That's why the option to turn them on/off is in the frontend.ini instead of the individual skins.  If both a title snap and regular snap are visible on a skin toggle snap doesn't work because imho it would be silly to have them alternate when they are both on the screen at the same time.

Hope that answers some questions.  Sit tight I'll have an update that'll help you out soon.

Thanks for the input.  I just put my cpanels into my cabinets folder.  Don't use the cabinets in my skin so I'm not loosing anything.

I'll play around with the toggles a bit more.  It's working for me right now (by luck I guess) but I'm sure I'll get the hang of it.

Thanks again.
