Morning guys,
After a flat move I finally found place for my "ARCADE TIMEWARP" Mame Cabinet. Its running ARCADE OS 2.5, after 5 years of storage... it still runs smoothly :D
The problem I have is with the joystick configuration, somewhere along the way, someone messed up the settings. Right now I can't set-up the buttons properly. I've tried changing the "GENERAL INPUT" while running a game with little luck. ???
Is it possible to completely reset the button/joystick configuration through Arcade OS 2.5? If not, is this possible by replacing the windows configuration file?
Thanks in advance,
Ced

IIRC all this info is stored in arcadeos.cfg. Rename it to something like "arcadeos.bak" and run arcadeos.exe. It'll generate a new one. Then you can make your changes as necessary.

SirPeale, thanks so much for the response. My bad for not checking this board sooner.
I just tried it, and it changes the display settings (turned split screen, high res) and games no longer load once selected.... luckily I did as you advised and kept the original arcadeos.cfg :)
So I'm back to square one.... My bootdisks don't work so a complete restore won't be happening.
The only settings I want to change are the JOYSTICK config, as far as Im aware these are only modifiable once a game is loaded. Then you can change individual GAME CONFIG and ALL GAMES CONFIG, is there a way to reset just this??
If not, what other solution would you use?
Tks again, Cedric

Once you delete that file you'll have to set the parameters back up in arcadeos.cfg.
Usually at the DOS prompt you type:
EDIT ARCADEOS.CFG
depending on what version of DOS you're running, of course.
