I am unable to get EmuMovies to work with mala 1.5. I am not going to bother asking for help because it's futile. Whatever codec or setting Mala is using to play the videos is causing Mala to lag and eventually crash. I have been at it for weeks, no codec packs that I remove or re-install are making any difference.
Is mala 1.6 going to be out with the new video player soon? I heard the beta was out then you removed it the same day or something. I am just wondering the status.

The link to the beta is in reply #135 in this thread:

Never
What is that supposed to mean?

what doesn't it mean?

Loadman's put in a pile of time on 1.6, but from his latest post, his work has gotten in the way :)
Sounded like it might be a few weeks before he's able to get back to it.
But the 1.6g beta is quite functional (although it does still crash on me, still trying to nail down why). And it does seem to work well with videos.

:badmood: Okay, dude.

Thanks for the link SGT. installeing the beta fixed the video issue. Here I have been at if for weeks thinking that I would have to find a new frontend.

Hi
You need to convert your videos to X-vid. And remove any other codec's from your pc.
A good and fast program is Prism Video converter.

1.6g beta works very well for me. I think it only locked up once on me. play it all the time.

This new 1.6 beta; Can it overtake all your previos gamelists and stuff without any difficulty?
I tried unzipping it in my main mala folder and nothing happend. It behaved like if there were no previos stuff at all. I'm not happy about if all things needs to be manulally installed again; gamelists and stuff. I have 40 layouts/emu setups. Can anyone clerify this for me? thanks

I haven't had a problem with them yet. Loadman mentioned a while back that layouts are not backward-compatible, but I think there's still an new malalayout.exe he hasn't released. I remember I got a message once that said "<file so and so> is from a different version, do you want to use it?", and I went ahead with no problems. I actually run both versions (for testing) from the same folder on the same lappy drive.
It's always a good idea to zip up your MaLa folder and store it somewhere, though. Minus ROMs and other retrievable stuff, its a pretty small backup to keep.

At least make a back-up folder copy somewhere's. I do after one mishap.
