Title: Windows XP - Spooler error
Post by: RTSDaddy2 on May 14, 2009, 12:31:11 am
Hey y'all - didn't know for sure where this one went, but have a friend that just encountered a "Spooler Subsystem App" error after trying to print from the internet tonight.  He's running Windows XP and using an HP Laserjet 1012 printer.  Both comp and printer work fine on their own (test page from printer printed)  BUT when we went to "Printers and Faxes" it was as if the printer didn't even exist!

Didn't know if any of you knew anything about this problem (well, actually I figure someone on here does), but I thought I'd ask what we need to do to fix it.   I looked on the web and it suggested a registry fix, but wanted to make sure that sounded like the right direction to head in.

Thanks, as always, ahead of time!

Make sure printer spooler is running in services.msc

Start- Run: services.msc

Did that with a different command from a different page (anyway, the tech post there SAYS it checks it).  I went and did Start - Run - cmd - net start spooler from the command prompt.  Said it was already running.

Will that also check it? Or did it show me nothing?
