Title: monitor "turn signal clicking" - sf bay area help?
Post by: tony.silveira on May 12, 2009, 04:39:41 pm
hi all,

my imp 44-4070-rt from betson just started doing the turn signal clicking.  i don't have the expertise to fix it myself and although betson has a local center in hayward, it would be a huge pain to get the monitor to them.

i was hoping that someone on this board has the experience, is local to me (san francisco bay area, fremont to be exact) and would be willing to make a house call for me.

i'd be more than happy to compensate you for your time.

thanks for reading, tony

I'd re-title as 'monitor clicking'. As it is, it seems like an off post or something.

check to see if the h output xistor is shorted .
diode(s) in the smps could also be shorted.

either will cause the pulsation

i wouldn't even know where to begin to look for the components you mentioned or, where to buy replacements.

i'm good with a soldering gun, have proper tools and a multi-meter.  if anyone is willing to point out where on the board to look, what steps to take, etc, i don't mind giving this a shot myself.  btw, i'm fully aware of the dangers and would follow all safety precautions...
