Title: Heavy Rubber T-moulding
Post by: Turnarcades on May 11, 2009, 11:15:15 am
OK I'm completely stumped. Up until now we've generally used heavy-duty rubber T-moulding on our cabinets as it is a lot more hard-wearing and not liable to cracking or anything. Until now we have bought in bulk from Swallow Amusements UK but have recently been told the manufacturer is ceasing production of this type.

I have searched and searched but it is not easy to find T-moulding in the UK as it is and absolutely no-one seems to stock this type of T-moulding. I wouldn't have thought it was that hard to come by as when we first started using it years ago many people stocked it and it has always been commonly found on commercial JAMMA cabinets over the years so I'm puzzled as to why it now seems so scarce.

I want to continue using this type as it makes for much sturdier cabinet edges which is essential for transporting and longevity. Does anyone know of anywhere wolrldwide that can supply this type of T-moulding in bulk?

That's strange given that t-molding is used on many things, not just amusement devices (just look around in any commercial setting and you'll see various sizes of t-molding on the edges of tables, cabinets, counters, commercial display units, etc, etc, etc). Perhaps since this stuff is used more by manufacturers, they are not easily found via internet... ?

It is especially strange, but even the arcade refurbishing/servicing/supply companies I've contacted don't even stock it. Surely we're not the only people to use it here?

Were you able to find anything?  I'm interested as well in something harder and long-wearing.  Regular t-molding seems to scratch and nick at the drop of a hat.  :(

I see this kind of stuff at fast food restaurants all the time.
