Title: WG K4900 Question
Post by: Kevin Mullins on May 10, 2009, 10:58:55 pm
I pulled a K4900 that needed a cap kit something fierce and while I was pulling it I noticed two wires poking out from under the chassis.
Now this particular chassis doesn't appear to have been completely pulled for any reason as the aquadag lead was still one piece. (uncut)
But the two solder joints on these two wires look as if it may have been added. Maybe by just pulling the chassis up enough to stick this on there.
And the ends were cut, so there was nothing on the end of them any longer.

The two leads were in conjunction with the + and - of C701.

Any idea what may have been going on here ?
(like maybe someone tried adding a cap to compensate for something ?)

I had another K4900 handy that was all ready to go, so I just swapped this one out for now and will re-cap this one later. (and it didn't have these extra leads)

That's where an optional NTSC board got it's power from.

Ahhh ...... thanks Ken.

That makes absolute perfect sense because this cab was originally a Bally/Midway NFL Football which used a video disc player. (which is all long gone now)

Yup that's it exactly.
