Title: Newbie intro and question

Hello All,
First post , I'd like to thank all for such a great place to get information , I was able to convert a dead Frenzy/Berzerk to Mame for my brother in law using the information found here , I also saved all the original hardware so it can be restored
it was made with 2 player fighter style CP using ipac and Mala and Happ supers (no pics)

My question is on my second build
I think I am missing something simple
I am trying to use two flight sticks , one USB and one on the gameport
When I use commandline with -joystick the flightsticks work , but when launched from Mala it is only seeing the keyboard , I tried clicking and unclicking joystick and mouse under options/controllers but this only seems to affect Mala and enables joystick scrolling for games
where can I have Mala pass on - joystick to Mame ?

mame config is set in mame.ini

I'll check it
My confusion was because when I connected the ipac , the happs just worked
I'll try to keep the Newbie questions to a minimum and read more

You can use the built in mamee.ini editor built into mala. That covers 90% of it.

That worked , I modified joystick from 0 to 1 in the mame.ini
I see where you were talking about changing it in Mala but will need to play around more to figure it out
