Ok, so they cancelled KR - that's NOT what I'm here to gripe about.
I'm here more because they cancelled "Life," which undeniably was one of the most unique, original cop shows on TV in favor of keeping Law & Order: SVU, from what I've heard. In addition to that, they've kept Heroes, which has been going nowhere for just about a year now. I gave in and gave heroes season three, but after they brought Arther Petrelli back from the dead only to kill him again in 12 episodes, I said the hell with it.
Anybody wondering why NBC scrapes the bottom of the barrel, this is it.
Plus, I still believe Knight Rider 2008 survives IF they don't ditch the premise of the original series ("One man can make a difference") in favor of that terrorism :censored: they tried to make us believe. The "Bionic Woman" remake failed for the same damn reason, just as it showed promise....they forgot these shows were less about effects and more about fun, heroic, believeable story lines. Not everything in this world has to be a damn Transformer or Terminator (BW lacked much more than that - Bionics without the "na na na na" effect, just simply don't work).

NBC sucks.
Las Vegas was my favorite show, when they cancelled it, My Own Worst Enemy became my favorite show on TV.
Now I've been watching episodes of Space Above and Beyond, 24 and Roughnecks Starship Troopers on NetFlix.
At least I know when those shows are ending.

Since when was Arthur dead? I remember him being bedridden and completely incapable of most everything except his mind voodoo.

They've gotta keep up with CSI, CSI Miami, and CSI NY.

That show was all about the hot ass. Well, not Nikki Cox anymore. She got old, fast.

Life was just another procedural crime drama. Sure it was a bit quirky, but they ALL have to have a quirk now since House became a hit.
I started to watch Castle, enjoyed it for 4 eps or so, then dropped it cold turkey. It's the same damn script over and over...
The only thing that matters to me is that they bring Chuck back. Life being canceled gives me a glimmer of hope.

Castle seems alright, but I've only seen about 10-15% of 2 or 3 episodes. I really like that guy from Firefly, though. Speaking of Firefly, The Dollhouse is just about the worst thing I've ever seen on TV ever. Pushing Daisies was, in my opinion, the best new show on TV since maybe Arrested Development (though don't get me wrong it was nowhere near as good as AD), but they (ABC?) pulled the plug on that. Sometime it seems like these businesses are being run by monkeys. For crying out loud, Arrested Development was canceled. That show wasn't just the best thing on TV maybe ever. It also had broad appeal. I have never ever ever met a person who watched it and didn't think it was great. Young, old, liberal, conservative, foreign, American. Everybody loves it. It won a bajillion Emmies. Maybe instead of cancelling it, Fox could have . . . ya know . . . promoted it. I had never even heard of it until it was dead. I watched it for the first time on DVD.
HBO has some disappointments too. They canceled Carnivale which is one of the best things I've ever seen on TV. That one was understandable. I think at the time it was the most expensive TV show ever made because of the extent they went to making all the period stuff look authentic (set during the Great Depression). It was also probably the most serialized show I've ever seen. I feel like if you didn't watch that show in the beginning it would be very difficult to come in mid-season and understand what was going on. It also was barely promoted, though. But canceling Deadwood made no sense at all. Deadwood was super popular. It was expensive, but it made money. HBO just wanted the creator of Deadwood to make a new show for them to fill the void Sex in the City was leaving so they pulled him off Deadwood and had him make the apparently crappy John in Cincinnati which lasted exactly one season. Dumb dumb dumb. Why the eff do you cancel a show that's doing well in the hopes that your talent can make lightning strike twice?

It's not their fault the viewing public isn't smart enough to appreciate a good show. However, it is their fault when they don't promote something like Arrested Development. I watched it when it was being aired, and they rarely promoted it. One of the most off-the-wall concepts, and it was absolutely hilarious. Dollhouse gets more publicity that AD got, it seems.

I hope you mean $45 million in its first weekend. It's going to do a helluva lot better than that in total. It will be one of the biggest hits of the summer. Look at the reviews it's getting, and the brilliant job they've done with the advertising -- making it appealing to non-Trekies.

Do you watch Chuck, Schmokes? Tony Hale from Arrested Development was on Chuck this season, and he was great. I never watched AD, but I'm thinking some day I'll have to check it out.

I hated Fringe initially. It has gotten better and better though. I really like the overall story arc they are unveiling. The albino boy episode had a great ending. I can't believe I didn't put 2 and 2 together as to what he was. I'm 2 eps back right now - will catch up this weekend.
