Help Needed.
I have a Rowe AMI heritage 1974 , 120 play ( model 1050 )
The problem is the selection unit.
When the selection is made and the arm begin to rotate it doesnt stop.
It just keeps turning,. This is happening every time a selection is made.
I have checked the timing etc and everything is fine. If the solenoid is activated manually the rest of the sequence all happens as it should and the record plays and is retrieved.
Seems to be only a problem in this area.
Please help as help in australia is non existent.
Cheers
Dean

Hi Dean,
When you select does the correct pin on the Search Unit push out?
Check this by selecting A1 and B1, B1 is the best to see it is on the inner circle of pins top dead centre. So if you look above the search unit youwill see ifthe pin pushes out.
To test Search Units I remove them from the mechanism (but with the edge connectors still connected) so I can see all the range of test selections I put on. The usual test is A1, C2, E3, G4 etc going up a letter and number for both the A sides and then the B sides. This tests both the search unit and the keyboard for all selections.
If the pins do not push out clean the open contacts of the open relays S1 and S2 on the search unit, this is best done by using a folded piece of paper pulled through the contacts.
Do not use any switch cleaners they will only cause problems.

hey ami man.
Thanks for the reply.
This is where Im at.
The jukebox is working correctly on all letters A to L but only on numbers 8, 9, and 0
On numbers 1 to 7 the search unit continues to turn .
On the back of the search unit cuicuit board , there is another adjust mark.
Does this have to be lined up when the no1 adjust mark on the front arm is set.
thanks again. and please excuse my lack of knowledge on electrics.
Cheers

Hi Dean,
With regards to your selection problems on your Heritage.
I would check out the keyboard with a meter that the sitches are making and that the wiring is good to the Search Unit edge connector (check for alignment on this plug it is possible to be almost a pin out)
Clean the keyboard open relay contacts and the S1 & S2 contact on the search unit (use the taper of paper method for cleaning the contacts, not switch cleaner)
Please let us know how you get on.
