Title: Hide all games issues
Post by: mr_doles on April 23, 2009, 04:41:21 pm
I am having a strange problem with the game list function in MaLa 1.0.5.8.
I was using game lists with Hide 'all games' list unchecked, no problems.  Once all my game lists were complete I put a check in Hide 'all games' lists and was able to scroll through the lists with out the All games.  I switched to another emulator and back to mame and All games is back and I can not switch to other lists.  To fix I just right click and select Options from the menu.  I hit OK without making any changes and it is fine again.  Switch to another emulator and back to mame and bam All games and no others.  If I close out of MaLa and go back in same issue, All games and no other lists.  I looked at the log and there is nothing in there.

Hope this makes some sort of sense.

Hi I tried to recreate the problem and can't (On the latest beta anyway)

Are you switching emu's (via a right click and select) or an allocated keyboard

I switch with either Joystick left-right or keyboard arrow left-right.  I tested right click and found this.  When I first run MaLa All games is my only game list (i.e < and > keys do not switch lists, plus All games should not be there).  If I right click and go to select game list all my lists are there and when I select one of them All Games disappears and the list works fine.  If I switch emulators via the right click, select a different emulator, and right click back to MAME it breaks it again.  When I unchecked Hide All Games list it works fine. ???  Very odd.

Going to keep tweaking seetings to see if it changes anything.  May even delete the MaLa folder and recreate it again (after backing up of course).  I am sure I f'd something up but have no idea what.  My only changes were checking hide all games once I was finished cleaning up my game lists and turning on use videos once I finished getting the videos set.  I did turn off videos to see if that did it but it did not.

Going to use the new version when it is ready so maybe that will fix it.

OK after much testing I found the problem.
I had unchecked 'Track selected game list and game' from GUI...Options...Gamelists.  Putting the checkmark back fixes the problem.  When I put the check back in (on the all games list screen) I got an error, here it is from the log:
2009/04/24  11:44:54.53   Error: Object Class: TTimer, Object Function: DisplayMarquee, Exception Class: EListError, Exception Message: List index out of bounds (22)
I closed out of MaLa and went back in, since then no errors and no issues with the gamelist.

Ahh Thanks for the feedback. I will check this
