iam trying to setup my u360 joysticks to be 4 way with the atari jaguar emulator (i think jaguar is 4 way..right?)
anyway
i cant figure out how to make maximus arcade change the maps.. anyone here get it working?
-
delusional?
-
Actually Jaguar is 8-way.
I believe you just set up Maximus Arcade to load the 8-way profile in the emulator's configuration screen in Maximus Arcade. I'm at work right now so I don't remember the exact way to do it. When I get off work I'll take a look and get back with you.
-
I'm using LedBilnky with maximus and that does it for me
-
yeah exactly todd,
i cant figure out how to get maximus to load the 8way config file, and then once the game is exited have it resort back to analog.
the maximus arcade forums are terrible for any sort of help.
-
are you using Ledblinky to load the maps inside MA?
I don't think there is any other easy way to do what you want
In LEDblinky you can set a map for each emulator and each game if you want
Yeah the Maximus boards are pretty useless (except for Delusional)
-
i have no idea what led blinky is...
i was assuming it had something to do with lighting the buttons for each game (if you had the led buttons, which i dont)
what do i select in the led blinky screen?
-
oh
LEDBlinky is a program created by another forum member, Arzoo :notworthy: :notworthy:
It does a bunch of things, including lighting up LED's
but you don't have to use that part at all. It is also is a map loader for U360 and works in conjunction with most popular Front ends (now including Maximus)
you can download it here (http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php?topic=73905.0)
It is a pretty powerful tool and takes a little while to get running, but it's awsome once it's configured
let me know if you have any questions
-
thank you for your time!
tried messing with it, cant seem to figure it out, is there a simple faq to explain what i want done?
i tried reading the readme but blah :|
i'll have to mess with it some more tomororw i guess

first open the LEDblinkyConfig.exe
select Maximus from the FE drop down menu
then go to the Misc Options Tab
under the Joystick Digital Restriction section
check the u360 box, and if you have a resrictor
just below that in the other Options section check the # of controls you have
and make sure Enable debug log, verbose logging, (that will help with trouble shooting) and save unknown games are checked
then save
run maximus and open preferences and go to the configuration tab and then the ledwiz tab (I know you don't have a LEDwiz)
check Run LEDBlinky, and use LedBlinky Configuration, you must do this under each emulator you want a Map to load in
then run one game from each emu, don't worry It won't work right just yet but you need to do it (trust me on this)
then quit and go to the LedBlinky folder and open the LedBlinkyControlsEditor.exe
click import/unknown games
then pic the emulator you want to set a map for (the game doesn't matter)
it will ask you if you want this to be the default , say yes
go to common Tab hit new
from the control drop down pick the control type (JOY4WAY for most older emu's STICK is for analog) then check the box next to that that says Primary controls
click Ok, Ok, then save
Rinse and repeat for each emu
hope I remembered all that right :dunno

OK, been a busy day for me so I'm sorry I haven't responded sooner.
Go to the Preferences window, click on Configuration, choose your emulator in the Configuration For: drop down menu. Next, go to the Pre-Launch tab, check the Run Application On Game Launch box, click on the button next to the path box and point it towards your 8way.ugc map. i believe you will have to create this map yourself. Also, don't forget to have Windows always use Ultramap to open a .ugc file. Now go to the Post Launch tab and click on the Run Application On Game Exit box, then point to your analog.ugc map in the path. That should do it.
As far as MAME goes, I just let MAME do the mapping for me since it pretty much does it with all analog sticks. I did have to create a config for diagonal games like Q*Bert. I used the MAME Analog Joystick Map Editor. Here's the link:

Any other questions let me know.

you guys are amazing!
i will try both when i get home and report back
thanks again!
-
hey Todd H,
that is a nice and simple solution!
Especially if you want to let mame handle the other mapping!
-
nice, todd your method worked perfect!
i havnt messed with the led method yet, iam going to try that soon as well.
would either of you know how to setup the playstation 2 emualtor to work with maximus?
the way it is now, you have to manually set the rom you want to play and change it each time you want to play something different through the emulator it self.
-
I didn't even know PS2 emulation was functional?
Have you played anything on it, god I'd love to get Ico, and Shadow of the Colossus on my cab
-
yes i been playing the tekkens on it
hit me up on aim
screen name = clickhea
-
if anyone can share how to configure MA to run with the pcsx2 emulator and the saturn emulator it would be appreciated.
the problem is these 2 emulators require the roms to be changed manually through the emulator themselves. i been tearing my hair out trying to get these to work.
-
I don't use either emulator so I'm no help I'm afraid.

Bender - You've almost got it exactly right (very impressive)! The only additional option clickhea needs to check is "No LEDs Mode" on the "Misc Options" tab. Also, there's no need to turn on the Debug mode - the unknown games list will still be captured.

Bender or Arzoo,
I was trying to follow your instructions for configuring LEDBlinky to work with MA. I'm using MA ver 2.10.6 and ver 3.8 of LEDBlinky. The problem I ran into has to do with the quote above. I do the LEDBlinky Config part and save it but when I go into MA and go to the configuration tab I do not have an LEDWiz tab to click on. What am I doing wrong?

Hmm, if you don't see the LEDWiz tab below the Configure tab then something seems wrong with MA. You may need to post a message on the MA forum. Here's the screen shot of my MA preferences app using 2.10 -

Also you are using MA 2.10.6 which is an early beta of MA.
Get the final version of MA 2.10 (which is actually newer than beta 2.10.11)
-
Ok Thanks I'll try that.
