Title: anyone have grand theft auto 3 on your cabinet? can you turn around on pc ?
Post by: tyweed on July 01, 2003, 09:14:58 pm
i love grand theft auto on playstation 2 so i decided to get it for pc. but when i walk around he moves forward and backwards ok but when you hit left to right you just move side ways left/right. so there is no way to turn around without your mouse. anyone is this a configuration problem or is this just how they adapted gta3 to run on a pc?

From what i can tell this is how they made it for the PC.  I play with a Logitech Wireless RumblePad and I get the same thing.  The only way i can turn is to use the slider on the top of the joystick, which is for turbo.  I have to keep it in the center for it to stay still otherwise if it is off to one side or the other the view just keeps spinning in circles.  It's not that bad, until you have to start shooting people.  I know of no such way to solve this problem.  I guess use a trackball while playing in a CAB if you have one...

mmm, only way to do it would be with a trackball...

but, like most games of this style (or FPS) - keyboard+mouse is the ONLY way to play, just feels so damn natural (compaired to console pads...useless for this type of game IMO)
