Title: wg K7000 chassis questions
Post by: Level42 on April 18, 2009, 05:36:31 am
I can get a working K7000 chassis in the area.

1) Is it any good (seeing WG's reputation this seems to be from the era that quality was OK, except for the 6100).
2) What yoke values does it require ?
3) It has been running a 25" tube, can it handle a 19" too ?

Thanks.

I have nothing bad to say about the K7000.

1. Well built, easy to fix when needed, parts readily available, etc.

2. Measured the resistance on one of my 25" models.
    Red/Blue 1.4 Ohm and Yellow/Brown 9.0 Ohm

3. Really not sure all the differences between 19" and 25" as I've only dealt with 25" versions.

There are considerable parts differences between the 19 and 25 inch versions.

HV will run slightly higher for a 25" than a 19".
the h yoke will be the most different .
the electron beam has more surface area to scan in a 25" than a 19". AND must do so at the same scan rate.
there is a bit more leeway in the vert windings.  but, it can only over/underscan so much.....
