Title: Where to buy Bartop Kit
Post by: trj on April 18, 2009, 01:07:15 am
Hi guys, I'm not the best with wood work so I'm looking for a place to buy a bartop kit to run a mame system, two player would be ideal, or 1 player with ball to run golden tee. Only place I've found so far is northcoast custom arcades....thanks in advance

Not a lot of bartop kits out there. Northcoast Customs and Emdkay are just about it.

Yeah I'm seeing that, haven't found a single two player cab for fighting games etc....maybe I'll just find someone local with woodworking skills to build one.

Maybe you could do a dual-monitor bartop with controls and screens on both sides (think Battleship, only as one unit). Sorta like a bartop redtent, but cooler.

I agree that I would for sure want a bar top with 2 player to play some street fighter or something but think of the logistics. You'd have to be sitting on each others laps and crossing arms to be able to fit on something that small.

In my opinion, the Widowmaker needs a large bar to call it a bartop. I said I would build a full size before I built another bartop that large. Fighting games justify a full size cabinet.

Good luck with your build.

Sorry Craig, I forgot about you (though I tend not to consider your cabs an option in the US)

Usually we can't do US (still working on this though) but a Bar-Top kit is small enough to ship safely through conventional means so shouldn't be a problem.
