Consoles may not be the right place for this but game controllers and such are discussed here and a mouse is often a game controller. :dunno
Anyway, I have big huge hands and a bit of the ol carpal, so find most mice too small and awkward for any lengthy use.
I've tried a couple out at a brick and mortar and found the Logitech Cordless Laser Mouse (MX1100) to be the best fit so far (the outside two fingers overhang and drag a bit- not a huge problem).
The Microsoft Natural Wireless Laser Mouse 6000 was the next best fit but the buttons seemed way too sensitive and the way it was shaped had too much unintentional clicking.
These are mice that you grip/rest with your whole hand, which is good, they're big. I wouldn't mind one that is made for gripping with just fingertips (like the one I'm using now (Kensington), but find most aren't wide enough to be comfortable.
I'm sure some of you here must have run into this problem and found something that works well.
Recommendations?

I think it might just be best to go to any store where they have most of the mice on open display and you just try'em till you like one. o.O

you could try a happs 4-1/2" trackballs if you have andre size hands or perhaps a smaller trackball like a 2-1/2" if the 4-1/2" is too big
there is also some pc type trackballs out there that may be even smaller.

Well I personally dislike large Mice (i have the opp problem, I have small hands), but do remeber that most of the fancy MS mice where Honking HUGE, almost touched the top and bottom of my mousepad when on top of it! Trackballs are nice, but when you are used to a mouse it is a fair amount of a learning curve. Some of the older MS mice are pretty big.

both fairly large mice (with fairly large prices too unfortnatly.

I use the logitech one you mentioned. The base of my palm and two little fingers drag on the desk, but it is still comfortable to use. I just use it on the bare desk since it is smooth for my hand to slide on. I haven't found a bigger one yet.

Microsoft used to make a huge, but high quality mouse called the Intellimouse Explorer.

After trying a bunch at a larger brick and mortar, I went with the Logitech MX1100.
Just like Paul Olson posted, palm and fingers drag but it's comfortable.
I have tried a few trackball mice (Logitech and Kensington) but found manipulating a small trackball with thumb or finger less than ideal.
I'd like to get my mitts on a larger trackball to try out like the Kensington Expert Mouse (thx for the url-it has great reviews) but haven't seen one in my travels so far. I'll keep an eye out.
For now the mx1100 will do (much better than the one I was using)- ...and it has a wicked scroll wheel :)
....and a wicked price :(
Overall though, a great mouse and good option for those with larger hands.

The mx1100 is very similar to the MX Revolution that I have. Looks like the difference is in the multiple resolution switching on the 1100 and the second "wheel" that actually just rocks and can be pressed on the revolution.
Picked it up a while back for the click-free scrolling and it's my first wireless mouse. Absolutely love the free spinning scroll wheel! Every mouse should have this feature.
