Ok so I have a 20 inch flat tube tv in my cab and its feeling a little too small. Its a mortal kombat 2 cabinet.. I have a 27 inch sansui laying around I think its this one http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/441756-REG/Sansui_DFTV275_DFTV275_27_Flat_CRT.html
and was wondering if there is any way I can shave those damn side speakers off to make it fit? I dont want to totally decase it unless I need to but will gladly remove anything as long as I dont get shocked or it damages the picture..Its the damn side speakers taking up space..

A 27" open-frame monitor BARELY fits in an MK2 cabinet, so you will likely need to decase it entirely to make it fit. That'll get rid of the extraneous speakers, too.

Just decase it, it's not that big of a deal (actually decasing isn't an issue but figuring out how to mount the tv may be a pain).
-
Ya i dont wanna worry about that.. What about a 25 it was like a cm 2 big..what about shaving that down?
-
Zack....pop that 27 open....long as you don't touch the tube and shiny wires...you'll be OK...you can also use them speakers to mount else where and add more boom...that's part of the fun of building a Mame cab...Kindergartens with powertools.....ITS FANTASTIC!
( now watch....Monday will roll around and we hear "MAN dies while working on arcade" in the news...)

lmao..Ya its either i mess with the 27 or get the 25 and shave the sides down somehow..
