So yesterday I managed to get my creditcard number stolen somehow. It was no problem besides to inconvenience of having to wait to get a new card, but in the meantime I figured running a virus scan would be in order since I found it suspicious it got stolen the day I used it to reorder my Ipac 4 online.
As already expected it caught malakeyhook.dll I read on the wiki that "some" scanners find it a virus...

it actually looks like most of them do. I'm curious what it does that seems so virus like to scanners? also I read this in the mala faq:
" What is MaLaKeyHook.dll for?
A: MaLaKeyHook.dll is for the emulator exit hook but can be replaced by HotKeys on XP or newer systems. The HotKey stuff does not work with fullscreen DirectX apps (emus) on Win98 systems. "
basicly my question is what is the hotkeys thing you are talking about? Is it already installed on xp? am i reading this right saying its basicly only used for win98?I kinda doubt its actually malicious, but if its something I dont even need I can get rid of the hassle of my antivirus bugging me about it and just have peace of mind.

You can delete it if you use XP
It shows up on some virus checkers as the dll sniffs keystrokes
