Went into Radio shack last night lookin for any small pushbuttons, like the ones on their website and they dont have any. In fact, they act like they have never had them.
Anyone know of any other stores that carry push buttons or .187 connectors and such?
I have found buttons on web sites but they are usually over priced or over charge on shipping.

Did you look in the grey cabinet thingie where they hide all the actual parts now adays (anything that isn't a cell phone plan goes in there) ?
I picked up my momentary pushbutton at home depot in the door bell aisle... *Shrug*

i bought my quick connects from home depot... originally, i was gonna buy them from radio shack but all they had was a pac of 8 .187 quick connects with matching male ends for ~$2-3 bucks... the ones i got from home depot came in a 50 pack all-female ones for $6-$7.... so not only does radio shack suck for not having items in stock, they also suck cuz they charge too much....

Which section did you find them in Home Depot?

I wouldn't buy anything there unless I absolutely had to. Try places like www.newark.com for your electric parts - you'll find that LEDs can be bought for *gasp* only 17 cents each instead of $1 for two, and almost every part has either a datasheet right there on the sales page, or a full manufacturer and part number so you can look it up easily. (as opposed to Radio Shack: "This here is a doorbell chime! What? you wanna know what them four wires are fer? Heh hyaaww, yer' a funny one! Here, buy a cell phone.")
You'll also find parts that look suited for this century, no more pots and capacitors from 70's surplus manufacturing, sold "as is" in variety packs, and you're supposed to figure out what they all are.

Oh, and unless they've drastically updated their pushbutton stock in the last few years (while they were planning to move out of electronics into cell phones), the pushbuttons there aren't very good. I couldn't find much there that didn't hurt my fingers or take too much effort to push. They were usable, but not very good.

My Home depot does NOT have them.
Some Ace hardwares stores have the .187.
Bob Roberts has the GOOD ones (with the full plastic sheild) for about the same prices as the others... And when you order there... pick up a few other goodies that you know you probably shouldnt!

Suprised noone suggested an auto parts store, they have .187 connectors, i believe a 22 pack is like 2 bucks, and pushbuttons are plentiful...
I like Radio Shack, but not the stores, I get their catalog (where all the good stuff is) and go into stores, and have them order it, giving them the part number and everything... because if you rely on them, you will never get what you need.
Anyhow, just a suggestion. :)

I found more luck at my LOCAL harware/lumber store for these parts. Look in the Electrical Department.

At home depot, they're back in the electircal area. When you see the big wiring rack (with the twist-on connectors and such) you're in the right spot. There was a color scheme to them, and IIRC, I got the red ones. They weren't exactly .187 I don't think, but the size listed matched the wire gauge I was using, and I brought a microswitch along to test-fit the spade. Good match.

I found some at an auto parts store, but they were for 14-16 ga wire. All the connectors for 18-22 ga wire were .250's.
